Description
Composition in black and white. Contour lines, overlapping lines, shaded and deleted. It depicts nineteen twenty-one the founders of the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo gathered under the arches of the inner courtyard of Largo Law School of San Francisco, in São Paulo. The portrayed are only suggested and some have the indicated facial features, a beard, mustache other. They are grouped, occupying almost the entire width of the area of the composition, and one of them is sitting in an armchair, almost back. Still in the foreground, on the right of center, small table covered with light towel, I fell to the ground. Sitting near table six of those portrayed, seeing from the left to the right: one in chair backrest arms high 3/4 facing right, with open book resting on her lap; three behind the table, side by side, and the center is ahead; and two sitting on a sofa, with the on the left on the nightstand, cross-legged and with his on the right arm on the table and the other on the far right with his legs apart and his on the left arm resting on the couch. In the background behind the seated group, find themselves twelve other figures, all standing side by side facing each other profile, more forward than others. Every group is gathered in the courtyard. At the bottom on the right part of the college building looking up arcades on the ground floor windows on the first floor and part of the church pediment.
