How can I search for items in the Portinari Portal collection?

On the main page of the Portinari Project, we provide a search tool for browsing the collection.

HOW IT WORKS: When you type in any word, the system uses autofill to suggest possible results. Clicking on a suggestion takes the user to the item's page. Once on the item's page, the user can browse through the relationships, or do a new search using the magnifying glass icon in the main menu.

The user can also not click on the suggestions (autofill) and press ENTER to do an "open search".

By default, the tool searches Works. But in addition to Works, the user can choose to search in the following typologies: Iconographic, Audiovisual, Bibliographic, Events, Agenda and News.

The search tool returns items that have the search term in the title, description or related subjects. This allows results to be found even if the search term is not in the title of the work, for example.

On the search results page, we can complement the search by using the filters, customized for each type. In the case of Works, the user can use the following fields:

WORK CATALOGUING FORM (FCO)

TITLE

TYPE OF WORK*

TECHNIQUE*

SUPPORT*

DESCRIPTORS - TOPIC*

DESCRIPTORS - PEOPLE*

DESCRIPTORS - ORGANIZATIONS*

DATE

UNFILTERED SEARCH

* autofill field

After filling in the fields, you can submit the query by pressing the SUBMIT button.

You can edit the query (by clicking on +filters), adding new terms or removing previously used terms.

On the search results page, you can sort the list by alphabetical order, chronological order, width and height of the Work.

Have a good search!
