Description
Composition in blue tones, orange, green, earthy, yellow, red and black. Smooth texture. It depicts episodes in Brazil's history: the arrival of the Portuguese, Anchieta writing in the sand and independence. The scene are depicted against irregular colored areas, creating amoeboid forms. On the left, three ships with the Maltese Cross. To the right of center, Anchieta figure writing in the sand, and the on the right-most group of human figures merely suggested. In front of one of the groups, men on horseback, facing right. Background with irregular areas featuring the sea, mountains and on the right vegetation.
