Historical info
In 1944 he began painting the panels that make up the Retirantes Series. The works Enterro na Rede, Criança Morta and Retirantes were donated to the São Paulo Museum of Art by Assis Chateaubriand and the work Criança Morta (1945) was acquired by the French Government in 1947 and is currently at the Fond National de Art Contemporain.
