Description
Composition in tones earthy, ochre, gray, blue, green, rose, red and black. Smooth texture. It depicts Santa Cecilia lying on the ground, occupying the entire width of the support, with flowers, musical staff and sword. Santa Cecilia is dead, lying on the floor, his head on the right profile; legs on the left, with half of the body facing side and supported on the left thigh. This work was originally made for the mother church in Brodowski, the one where, in 1918, Portinari was first exposed to painting, executing the stars for the church’s altar. Later, the work was transferred to the Seminário Arquidiocesano Maria Imaculada, also in Brodowski.
