Title
Bumba-Meu-Boi
Description
Composition in orange, yellow, blue, green, white, earthy, ochres and gray tones. Smooth and rough texture. It depicts a scene of Bumba-meu-boi, with three figures against geometrized background. In the center of the composition, animal representation turned to left, with the body covered by a kind of small geometrized skirt with rectangles. Inside the animal, a figure of a man turned to the left, his head froward facing, left arm along the body and and right arm raised with an open palm forward. Enlarged feet, appearing below the animal, shoes wearing strappy sandals. He wears a brimmed up hat and a sort of jacket of the same color. In the lower left half of the composition, a boy back facing, legs spread and arms raised. In the background, on the right, figure of a woman wearing a turbant, with no defined facial features and her left hand on hips partially covered by the central figure. To the right of woman, a man standing, 3/4 facing the left, playing an instrument that seems to be a clarinet. Flat ground in orange geometrized in shades of yellow and green.
