Horses in the River
Description
Composition in black and white. Predominance of shading. Horse It depicts being washed in the river. In the foreground, profile horse to the left, being rubbed in the neck by figure sketched 3/4 turned on the right. In the second plane, rather steep diagonal on the left to the right occupying the entire width of the composition, three horses each having its side outlined human figures. The first animal faces, 3/4 facing left, head down with white stripe along the neck, following the mane, is being washed by Figure 3/4 toward the on the right. The second is in the same position as the previous one, and has the most legs dipped into the water and head up to the left. The vertical line through the animal's chest and curved parallel lines that converge to the vertical accentuate its volume. Beside him, standing figure holding his neck. The third, in the distance, his back is his head raised profile to the left and has his on the left hand, figure steeped in water up to the hips, with arms up. In the background, profile horse to the left, taking the figure outline back. The river is represented by shading it covers the entire bottom of the composition.
