Trip Transformers Award

2011

The Trip Transformadores Award, created in 2007, recognized and honored people and initiatives that have rethought the notion of development in Brazil. Professor João Candido Portinari received the award for the work he does to this day as head of the Portinari Project, where he seeks to collect the works of his father, one of Brazil's greatest artists, and also bring them to the public for appreciation. This year, the most recent example was the War and Peace Project, which, thanks to the work of the Portinari Project, brought to the general public in Brazil and around the world the War and Peace panels, Portinari's masterpiece, installed more than 50 years ago at the headquarters of the United Nations (UN) in New York.
