In 2010, the Research, Learning-Exercise and Extension Program in the Training of Education Professionals at the Faculty of Education of the Fluminense Federal University, under the coordination of Professor Célia Linhares, held the 'Seminar on Portinari and the Brazilian Culture: An invitation to education against the grain' on May 26 and 27. The Portinari Project was an essential partner in the event, helping to set up the replica exhibition entitled 'Brazil by Portinari'. In addition, the Portinari Project played an active role in the Seminar, in particular by means of the keynote lecture given by Professor João Candido Portinari and the presence of educator Suely Avellar alongside education researcher Isabel Reis at the round table on Culture and Education.
